Books

My first book  The Mexican Mama’s Kitchen, was a finalist in the Latino section of the prestigious Gourmand Worldwide Cooking Awards 2006.

‘A welcome contribution to the “Mama’s Kitchen” series, The Mexican Mama’s Kitchen: Authentic Homestyle Recipes combines classic and time-tested home recipes with the motherly tips and advice of anexperienced cook’

Midwest Book Review

‘The recipes offered in this cookbook differ quite a bit from most Mexican cookbooks I have seen – rather than focusing on Tex-Mex cooking or on painstakingly authentic regional dishes, this author has a style of cooking that seems more European-influenced’

My second book The Tomato Book, published by Dorling Kindersley in May 2009 has been co-written with Gail Harland is all about tomatoes

‘This book is a beautifully designed guide to everything you need to know about growing tomatoes. It has opened my eyes to just how many varieties there are out there and i have really enjoyed hunting down some of the rarer seeds on the internet. The book’s easy to follow instructions have provided me with a forest of seedlings from the eclectic ‘Green Sausage’ to the unusual ‘Black Russian’. Though the majority of the book is dedicated to choosing your tomatoes and growing them, it also has an inspiring collection of interesting recipes, such as Tomato and Mascarpone Ice Cream with Raspberries and Tomato and Lemon Marmalade, which is absolutely delicious!’

A tomato lover from Amazon

‘If you want to have your own supply of tomatoes for the summer, this book has suggestions on the best varieties to grow, how to cultivate them in different kinds of environment and recipes for once you’ve achieved your goal, from sauces to chutneys’

The Times
